How AI summarisation works
MedPally uses AI to make new research easier to scan—not to replace the source publication.
What the summary uses
MedPally retrieves the paper title, journal, publication date, publication type and abstract from PubMed. Those publication details, the abstract and a specialty label are provided to the AI summarisation service.
Account details, reading activity, saved papers and journal preferences are not included in the summarisation request.
What MedPally produces
Each summary follows the same short structure: study type, clinical context, principal finding, possible relevance and a small set of topic tags. The system is instructed to use only information supplied from the PubMed record and to mark details that are not reported.
Important limitations
Abstracts are condensed accounts of research, and AI-generated text can omit context, misunderstand a result or reproduce an error in the source record. A summary may not reflect details that appear only in the full paper.
